I got a very rare opportunity to capture these portraits when I was exploring the northeast side of Sabah Malaysia.
The kids you see here are only surviving 5-10 ringgit a day…
Although times are tough for them, they are still grateful for the things they have and try their best to overcome it with family and neighbours..
This young man right here was REALLY down to earth and genuinely nice even though he doesn’t know me at all.. he came to me out of curiosity and asked about my camera and what I like to do, I spent some time chatting with him and teach him how to take some pictures and fly a drone hahah.
He even offered to get some big fresh coconuts for the price of 5 ringgit each. I got 2 coconuts from him and gave him an extra 40ringgit as he was really nice and he made the whole experience better.What a wholesome experience (which i did not expect)
The older ladies here are watching over the boys in case of any incidents.
Hahah, this young lad was teaching me how to create a ball made of soil,water and sand and play it with the rest of the kids .
Cute boy right here fell asleep mid way while standing as he just finish his meal. (What a cute sight!)
